Advanced ceramics are a key material sector in the High-tech Zone. Building on the development of traditional advantageous areas, efforts are accelerating to deeply develop products for application fields such as new energy, energy conservation, environmental protection, electronic information, and high-end equipment. Focusing on the advantages of the industrial chain, the New Materials Center is concentrating on extending and supplementing the industrial chain, promoting the introduction of the Youkang Pressureless Sintered Silicon Carbide project. Currently, this project has successfully signed a cooperation agreement.

Silicon carbide ceramics, as one of the ceramics with the best high-temperature strength, stand out among non-oxide ceramics due to their excellent oxidation resistance and are widely used in various industrial fields. Pressureless sintered silicon carbide is a subcategory of silicon carbide, prepared through a pressureless sintering process to form high-performance silicon carbide ceramics. It possesses the highest hardness, best corrosion resistance, and longest service life among all types of silicon carbide. It has higher application advantages in fields such as semiconductors, chemical industry, and machinery, with good market development prospects. Currently, China has many silicon carbide production enterprises, but most still mainly produce reaction-sintered silicon carbide, and there are relatively few pressureless sintered silicon carbide enterprises. The industry still has considerable room for growth in the future.

Shandong Youkang Industrial Ceramics Co., Ltd. is investing in the construction of a silicon carbide industrial ceramics project. Once the project is completed and reaches full production, it will achieve an annual production capacity of 100,000 sets of various high-end silicon carbide industrial ceramic series products. The project introduces Japan's most advanced pressureless sintered silicon carbide technology, with a team of Japanese experts providing technical guidance in China. The preparation techniques, processes, and parameters are far superior to domestic equivalents, filling a gap in domestic technology. Shandong Youkang will strive to expand the domestic market and meet the demand in new energy and semiconductor fields. Once the project is established in the High-tech Zone, it will achieve the localization of high-end silicon carbide products and promote the development of the high-end silicon carbide industry.
