Double-end butt end silicon carbide rod

Category:

Product Introduction

Product Information:
Double-end butt end silicon carbide rods are non-metallic heating elements made from high-purity silicon carbide through a high-temperature recrystallization sintering process. They feature a three-section variable-diameter structure, with butt ends at both cold ends and a thinner heating section in the middle. The butt end design effectively reduces the electrical resistance of the cold ends, minimizing heat loss at the connection points and ensuring lower temperature and more reliable connections at the power lead-out areas. For through-wall installation, only holes sized to the butt ends are needed, making sealing simple and heat loss minimal. The cold ends can be connected using metal clamps, allowing easy assembly and disassembly, and convenient replacement and maintenance. Under high-temperature oxidizing atmospheres, a quartz protective film forms on the surface, significantly extending the service life.

Performance Parameters:
SiC Content: ≥98%; Apparent Porosity: 20%–22%; Thermal Expansion Coefficient: approx. 4.8×10⁻⁶/°C; Straightness: ≤0.2%; Bulk Density: 2.6–2.8 g/cm³; Flexural Strength at Room Temperature: ≥40 MPa; Electrical Resistivity: 0.08–0.1 Ω·cm; Resistance Value Deviation: ±10%; Maximum Operating Temperature: 1600°C.

Product Dimensions:
Overall length can be manufactured in the range of approx. 300–4500 mm. Yuko Corporation can produce according to customer requirements and drawings.

Product Applications:
Widely used in box furnaces, bogie hearth furnaces, tube furnaces, muffle furnaces, tunnel kilns, roller kilns, elevator furnaces, and various laboratory electric furnaces. As heating elements, they provide a stable and controllable high-temperature heat source for processes such as sintering and heat treatment.
