Product Information:
U-shaped silicon carbide rods are non-metallic heating elements made from high-purity silicon carbide through a high-temperature recrystallization sintering process. They feature a U-shaped structure integrally formed by two equal-diameter rods and a bottom bridge. The heating section and the lead-out ends have exactly the same diameter, presenting a smooth and even surface. Compared with the traditional dual-rod series installation, U-shaped rods require holes and wiring on only one side of the furnace wall, offering easy installation and excellent sealing. The lead-out ends can be connected with aluminum braid, providing low contact resistance, reliable electrical connection, and easy replacement and maintenance. Under high-temperature oxidizing atmospheres, a quartz protective film forms on the surface, significantly extending the service life.
Performance Parameters:
SiC Content: ≥98%; Apparent Porosity: 20%–22%; Thermal Expansion Coefficient: approx. 4.8×10⁻⁶/°C; Straightness: ≤0.2%; Bulk Density: 2.6–2.8 g/cm³; Flexural Strength at Room Temperature: ≥40 MPa; Electrical Resistivity: 0.08–0.1 Ω·cm; Resistance Value Deviation: ±10%; Maximum Operating Temperature: 1600°C.
Product Dimensions:
Common diameter range: 10–60 mm; lead-out ends have the same diameter as the heating section. Manufacturable single-arm heating section length: approx. 150–2400 mm; bridge width can be customized according to furnace chamber dimensions. Orders are expressed as “Diameter × Single-arm Heating Length × Bridge Width × Lead-out End Length.” Yuko Corporation can produce according to customer requirements and drawings.
Product Applications:
Widely used in box furnaces, bogie hearth furnaces, tube furnaces, muffle furnaces, tunnel kilns, roller kilns, elevator furnaces, and various laboratory electric furnaces. As heating elements, they provide a stable and controllable high-temperature heat source for processes such as sintering and heat treatment.
