Equal-diameter silicon carbide rod

Category:

Product Introduction

Product Information:
Equal-diameter silicon carbide rods are non-metallic heating elements made from high-purity silicon carbide through a high-temperature recrystallization sintering process. The heating section and the cold ends have exactly the same diameter, presenting a smooth and even surface. Compared with enlarged-end rods, these rods allow a uniform through-hole size for installation, resulting in excellent sealing. The cold ends can be connected with aluminum braid, offering low contact resistance, reliable electrical connection, and easy replacement and maintenance. Under high-temperature oxidizing atmospheres, a quartz protective film forms on the surface, significantly extending the service life.

Performance Parameters:
SiC Content: ≥98%; Apparent Porosity: 20%–22%; Thermal Expansion Coefficient: approx. 4.8×10⁻⁶/°C; Straightness: ≤0.2%; Bulk Density: 2.6–2.8 g/cm³; Flexural Strength at Room Temperature: ≥40 MPa; Electrical Resistivity: 0.08–0.1 Ω·cm; Resistance Value Deviation: ±10%; Maximum Operating Temperature: 1600°C.

Product Dimensions:
Common diameter range: 10–60 mm; cold ends have the same diameter as the heating section. Manufacturable cold-end length: approx. 100–800 mm; heating section length: approx. 150–2400 mm; overall element length: approx. 350–4000 mm. Orders are expressed as “Diameter × Heating Section Length × Cold End Length,” e.g., 20×400×300 mm. Yuko Corporation can produce according to customer requirements and drawings.

Product Applications:
Widely used in box furnaces, bogie hearth furnaces, tube furnaces, muffle furnaces, tunnel kilns, roller kilns, elevator furnaces, and various laboratory electric furnaces. As heating elements, they provide a stable and controllable high-temperature heat source for processes such as sintering and heat treatment.
