Material Characteristics:
Reaction bonded silicon carbide (RB-SiC) is made from high-purity silicon carbide (SiC) micropowder and carbon source (graphite / carbon powder). After forming by dry pressing, slip casting or isostatic pressing, it is fabricated by silicon infiltration and reaction sintering at high temperature. Molten silicon penetrates into the blank and reacts with carbon to form new silicon carbide, and excess silicon fills the pores to achieve near full densification. With minimal sintering shrinkage and excellent dimensional stability, RB-SiC ceramic features low porosity, high rigidity, outstanding thermal shock resistance and certain electrical conductivity, and is widely used in high-temperature kilns, metallurgy, chemical industry, environmental protection and other fields.
Product Information:
Reaction bonded silicon carbide (RB-SiC) rollers adopt slip casting or extrusion molding combined with high-precision molds and controlled reaction bonding sintering technology, ensuring uniform wall thickness, excellent straightness and smooth surface of the rollers. The product features outstanding oxidation resistance, thermal shock resistance, wear resistance and excellent creep resistance under high-temperature service conditions.
Performance Parameters:
Bulk density ≥3.02 g/cm³, apparent porosity <0.3%, cold bending strength ≥230 MPa, maximum service temperature 1380℃, elastic modulus approximately 330 GPa, Mohs hardness approximately 9.2.
Product Dimensions:
The outer diameter of standard RB-SiC rollers ranges from Φ20mm to Φ65mm with wall thickness of 3mm to 8mm and single piece length from 1000mm to 5000mm. Custom secondary processing is available including end chamfering, inner hole machining, step forming, surface precision grinding, threaded connection and positioning slot processing. Yuko Corporation can also customize special-shaped and non-standard rollers according to customers’ drawings and technical requirements.
Product Applications:
RB-SiC rollers are widely used in the conveyor roller tables of roller kilns for lithium battery cathode and anode materials, support rollers for sintering furnaces of electronic ceramics and special ceramics, transmission rollers for high-temperature heat treatment lines of magnetic materials and powder materials, as well as conveyor roller tables for glass annealing furnaces and metal heat treatment furnaces, serving as key components for stable transmission and load-bearing under continuous high-temperature production conditions.
