Material Characteristics:
Pressureless sintered silicon carbide (SSiC) is made of high-purity silicon carbide (SiC) micropowder as raw material. After forming by dry pressing, slip casting or isostatic pressing, densification sintering is conducted in a high-temperature furnace under atmospheric pressure and inert gas protection at a sintering temperature of about 2100-2200℃. This process can produce high-performance ceramics with a theoretical density of over 98%, uniform microstructure and no free silicon residue. The product features extremely high hardness, excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and wear resistance, and is widely used in industrial kilns, electronic materials, semiconductors and other industries.
Product Information:
Pressureless sintered silicon carbide (S-SiC) saggers are fabricated by cold isostatic pressing combined with high-temperature pressureless sintering technology, or thin-walled high-precision sagger blanks are prepared by high-pressure slip casting followed by densification sintering. This ensures uniform overall density of the sagger, consistent wall thickness, flat bottom surface and distinct edges and corners. Under long-term high-temperature service and frequent cold-heat alternation conditions, the product features no cracking, no softening, no material adhesion, high thermal shock stability and long service life, making it an ideal container for carrying powders or products in high-temperature synthesis and sintering processes.
Performance Parameters:
Bulk density ≥ 3.10 g/cm³, maximum service temperature 1700℃.
Product Dimensions:
Standard S-SiC saggers are designed according to application scenarios, with common length and width dimensions ranging from 100mm×100mm to 500mm×500mm, depth ranging from 20mm to 200mm, and wall thickness ranging from 4mm to 12mm. Secondary processing is available, including precision grinding of the rim, flatness finishing of the bottom surface, positioning slot processing, ventilation hole drilling and chamfering. Yuko Corporation can also provide customized products according to customers’ specific sintering process drawings, stacking methods and special dimensional tolerance requirements.
Product Applications:
S-SiC saggers are widely used as powder containers for high-temperature solid-phase synthesis and sintering of lithium battery cathode and anode materials, stacking saggers for binder removal and sintering processes of electronic ceramics and MLCC capacitors, carrying containers for high-temperature solid-phase reactions of phosphors and luminescent materials, holding saggers for calcination and synthesis of ceramic pigments and glazes, as well as isolation containers for preventing cross-contamination during heat treatment of powder metallurgy and magnetic materials. They serve as core firing-bearing and material-carrying components under requirements of high temperature, high cleanliness and long service life.
