Material Characteristics:
Pressureless sintered silicon carbide (S-SiC) is made of high-purity silicon carbide (SiC) micropowder as raw material. After forming by dry pressing, slip casting or isostatic pressing, densification sintering is conducted in a high-temperature furnace under atmospheric pressure and inert gas protection at a sintering temperature of about 2100-2200℃. This process can produce high-performance ceramics with a theoretical density of over 98%, uniform microstructure and no free silicon residue. The product features extremely high hardness, excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and wear resistance, and is widely used in industrial kilns, electronic materials, semiconductors and other industries.
Product Information
S-SiC seal rings are produced by cold isostatic pressing combined with high-temperature pressureless sintering technology, ensuring highly uniform radial and axial density as well as isotropic microstructure of the ring body. The mating surfaces are processed by precision grinding and lapping to achieve superior flatness and surface finish. Featuring excellent wear resistance, low leakage rate, good thermal stability and strong thermal shock resistance under high-speed rotation, corrosive medium scouring and dry friction conditions, S-SiC seal rings act as core friction pair components for mechanical sealing systems.
Performance Parameters:
Bulk density ≥ 3.10 g/cm³, apparent porosity < 0.1%, cold bending strength ≥ 400 MPa, maximum service temperature 1650℃, Hardness (HRA) ≥ 92.
Product Specifications & Processing:
The outer diameter of standard S-SiC seal rings ranges from 20mm to 300mm, and the ring width and thickness can be customized according to working conditions. Available secondary processes include inner hole precision lapping, high-precision outer circle grinding, super-finish lapping of sealing end faces, positioning groove milling, spring seat step machining, as well as processing of special fluid grooves and diversion holes. Yuko Corporation can also provide customized solutions based on customers’ sealing chamber drawings, non-standard dimensions and special end face profile requirements.
Product Applications:
S-SiC seal rings are widely used as rotating and stationary rings for mechanical seals in petrochemical pumps, marine stern shaft seals, sealing end faces for pharmaceutical and food-grade clean pumps, friction pairs for high-temperature heat conduction oil circulation pumps, sealing assemblies for nuclear and thermal power main circulation pumps, and key sealing parts for strong acid and alkali medium transfer pumps in semiconductor wet processes. They are critical sealing components to ensure long-term stable operation of equipment under extreme working conditions.
